MLK Weekend Celebration

The League of Women Voters of Saratoga County is partnering with MLK Saratoga for the Dr. King Celebration Weekend. See Event Schedule on MLK Saratoga website.

With an amazing lineup of artists, speakers, and events, MLK hopes to be able to host most of their programming in person this year, following local COVID protocols; they will also be ready to pivot to a virtual format, if necessary.

Educational & Celebratory Cultural Events include:

• a conversation facilitated by Saratoga Education Equity Network (SEEN),

• C.R.E.A.T.E. Studios’ “Erasing Spaces and Faces: The Legacy of Urban Renewal”

• Northshire Bookstore’s collaborative event with author Michelle Coles, based on her YA book, Black Was The Ink, which explores the African-American experience during the Reconstruction Era,

• a reading by the Black Theatre Troupe of Upstate NY,

• a performance by renowned tap artist, Tina Fretto Baird,

• an open mic poetry slam,

• and MUCH MORE.
