This program is cancelled because the Saratoga Springs Public Library has cancelled all programs and meeting room bookings through April 19.
Diana Coleman will share inspiring and entertaining stories and photos of older women enjoying life-changing experiences and adventures, from her book Women Going For It! Taking Risks After 50. A book signing will follow Diana's presentation. This program is co-sponsored by the Saratoga Springs Public Library, the League of Women Voters and Palette Cafe.
Author and speaker Diana Coleman tells some of the compelling stories of twenty-six dynamic women, whose grit and humor lead to their taking all kinds of risks. Donating a kidney to a stranger, building schools in Ethiopia, racing around a Roller Derby track, they triumph over fears and offer advice.
One of the women featured in the book, former neurologist Patty Hymanson, MD, is now a State Representative for Maine. Patty had no idea that she would pursue politics as a second career, and she enjoys using her health background as a physician to promote affordable and comprehensive health care.
Diana will share her inspiration for writing the book, and engage the audience in a discussion about risk-taking.
