Meetup: Police Reform Task Forces

Due to the New York State Governor’s Executive Order 203 in June of 2020, all police agencies are required to submit a plan on police reform by April 1st in order to receive state funding. The League will present a review of the plans submitted by the County Sheriff and the local police forces in the County.  A representative from Sheriff Zurlo’s office will summarize the County plan. Local plans will be discussed for comparisons to one another and how police departments will have to address responses to situations in the future.

The Saratoga Springs Police Task Force has completed their recommendations and they can be accessed at this link: Police Reform Task Force Recommendation and Plan. The City Council resolutions are also on view on the City website. The Saratoga County plan can be accessed on the Saratoga County Sherriff’s Office Executive Order 203 Compliance Group page: https://www.saratogacountyny.gov/departments/sheriffs-office/executive-order-203-advisory-group/.
