LWVSC has proposed that the 2021 LWVNYS Convention concur with the LWV of California's Criminal Justice Position. Thirteen other Leagues joined us and the LWVNYS Board is recommending that the 2021 Convention adopt the California Position: https://lwvc.org/our-work/positions/position-criminal-justice. This comprehensive position would enable local leagues in New York to speak to a range of police reform and other criminal justice issues.

Lori Dawson, the prime mover of this effort, will present a PowerPoint that includes the language of the Criminal Justice position as well as the Convention plenary timeline, and proposed Convention Rules that apply so that LWVNYS Delegates are prepared to vote.
